Reduction mammoplasty operations are performed under general anesthesia. The operations take on average 3 hours. The patient can check out of the hospital the day she has the operation or the following day and will return to the hospital for follow-ups every 2-3 days. Patients do not experience severe pain after reduction mammoplasty surgeries.
