 Ringworm (alopecia areata): hair loss in the scalp, beard region, eyebrows, eyelashes and other body hair which extends to the whole body without a specific symptom. Recurrence of the the disease and its unknown course affect the quality of life negatively.
Genetic factors, psychological factors, stress, humoral and cellular immunity, endocrine system functions, contagious diseases or nervous system disorders have been proposed to play a role in this disease, but the actual underlying cause is not known exactly.
Currently, various alternative treatment methods are used for ringworm.
