Breast Reduction Operation

 Women, who have big and saggy breasts in proportion to their body, may experience different medical problems as well as aesthetic anxiety. These include neck and back pain, skin irritation, skeletal deformations or respiratory problems. It is possible to get rid of these complaints due to big breasts with breast reduction operations.

In most cases, breast reduction operation is not performed before the woman’s breasts develop completely. However, in cases where very big breasts lead to severe physical discomfort intervention may be considered at earlier ages.

Your doctor prefers to perform the operation in a hospital. Breast reduction operation is performed under general anesthesia. You should plan to stay at the hospital for one night after the operation.
You may have mild pain for a period of more than one week which can be controlled by simple analgesics. Your sutures are removed in 1-3 weeks.
You can stand up and walk the next day of the operation. You should avoid lifting or pushing heavy objects for 3-4 weeks.
Your doctor will give you detailed recommendations about returning to your normal life. Most patients can return to their work and social life after one week, if their work does not require a heavy pace.
