 Most operations performed on the nipple are performed in combination with breast shaping, breast reduction or breast lifting operations. Nipple operation alone is a rare procedure. When it is performed alone, local anesthesia may be used. The procedure lasts for ½-1 hour. The patient can return to work on the same day.
Aesthetic operations to be performed on the nipple vary according to the objective, when performed in combination with other operations. If augmentation will be performed, it is generally preferred to use the patient’s own tissue. If breast reduction will be performed, it is very important to learn if the patient is planning to give birth in the future in determining the technique of the procedure, since the nipple appears rather big in patients who have breastfed their infants for a long time.
