THIN AND WEAK HAIR

In the process of the natural life cycle of the hair, the hair grows for a specified time. At the following stage growth stops and hair loss starts. The hair root is restructured after hair loss and after this resting period start to grow where it is present renewing itself. The life cycle of the hair is composed of the following phases:

Anagen phase: This the period during which the hair grow healthily. Approximately 80-90% of the hair is in the anagen phase. This phase lasts approximately 3 years for each hair strand, but may extend up to 5 years.

Catagen phase: this is a transition period which lasts approximately 3 weeks. During this period the hair gets thinner and pigment loss starts. Approximately 2% of our hair is in the catagen phase.

Telogen phase: Lasts approximately for 3 months. Thinned and depigmented hairs start to being lost. At the same time, a new follicle starts to grow from hair cells. Approximately 10-15% of the hair is in the teleogen phase.
